Dear Readers, I have not forsaken you. Here I present my latest work. And whilst it has been some time between updates I have not been idle–I have just not been pushing stuff to completion. Well, that is slowly changing!
Here are the first 2 models for a skaven Mordheim warband I have been putting together.
There is a lot more coming on this and I will put more words to it later, but for now just leave you with this morsel to whet your appetite for the feast to come.
I also knocked up a couple of townhouses with, of course, more to come in the full effluxion of time.
Ah, brilliant! There is something just totally satisfying about the old Jess Goodwyn Skaven. I have some in my Mordheim warband as well.

Thanks! Yes, I just canβt see the appeal in any of the plastic skaven releases. Only these ones actually look like skaven to me!

These are supercool!!!
Especially flame-touch, veeery “Blanchy” π
Love these oldie models, a while back also wanted to build Mordheim band based on 4/5th edition ratmen.
Definitely hope to see more of these coming from the other side of the pond!

This project aligns with my current interests extremely closely, and surely everybody reading this enjoys an old Goodwin Skaven.
I’ll be keeping an eye on this!

Thanks, Cheetor! I think there will be a bit of Mordheim as we come up to the 20th anniversary of the game. Iβm getting a war band together for a local tournament in October so thereβs not really all that much time left to finish these off!

Yes… if you google βradheimβ or search on Instagram the chaps who run it have a tumblr … apparently they have been doing it for years but I just stumbled across them a few months ago and rashly signed up for their next tournament without a war band painted!

A warband is a very achievable hobby project. I’m certain that you will ace it Warburton.
Good luck!

Thanks, IRO… the colours and flame motif are a bit of a nod to the old school style when skaven used to be much brighter. Glad you like them and more coming soon!

Excellent. I like that. I’m assuming you’ve seen Wudugasts yellow clad rats?

Yes they were certainly a source of inspiration as were the old Andy Chambers army from many years ago and there is a blog called Nicoβs Realms of Chaos which was also a major influence. I will do a write up of the influences/inspirations in a future post!

Nice work – love those old Goodwin Skavenslaves and warriors. The little flame motif is a very cool, subtle touch as well. π

Thanks! Yes the colours and flames are a bit of a nod to the 90s, as usual…
