Sci-Fi Civilians: Ships Crew

Some sci-fi civilians painted just for fun really; painted as Ship’s Crew for some sort of civilian space ship.

The figures are an OOP civilian model from Warlord Games, from their Judge Dredd 200AD range (the guy holding the brown paper package) and the other is the Ship’s Mechanic from EM-4 Miniatures, from the legendary Spacelords range. Painted to a basic standard, I have more of these sorts of minis which I will paint in due course.

At one stage I had dreams of doing an upper-hive Necromunda game, featuring various civilians getting in the way. I therefore collected various sci-fi civilians, many of which are quite fun models, and may even be useful one day!

  1. It’s always good to have some civilians serving as objectives, obstacles, and generally as part and parcel of the melee and mayhem of a good game. 🙂 I’ve long loved that Spacelords range, and the fellow above is probably the first miniature from the range I ever painted; a personal favorite: just the right mount of detail, the perfect level of character, all around great miniature. And that Judge Dread miniature is really neat looking too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that one before. He looks great, and it’s amazing how much a uniform color will pull disparate miniatures together. Bravo!

    • Thank you Mr Poet. I had some orange paint out, and these guys sitting on my desk and inspiration just struck. I’m quite happy with how the uniform ties them together and yeah I think they will come in useful for various photographs and games too perhaps as background NPCs. Thanks for the comment!

    • Thanks John I had some orange paint out, and these guys sitting on my desk and inspiration just struck. Painted them very fast as they will only ever be background NPC type figures but yeah I’m fairly happy with them!
