Blood Angels Scouts (1990s models)

I recently painted 5 Blood Angels scouts – this time the classic 1998 models by Jes Goodwin.

Unfortunately the photos aren’t the best (I am considering buying a new-second-hand camera), in this case they do actually look better in hand, but overall they turned out fairly well, I think. They were actually quite annoying to paint, with endless fiddly little details and every time I looked at them there seemed to be some frustrating detail I had missed. even whilst photographing them I noticed things I had meant to come back and finish. In the end I just had to call them done, they look fine for gaming purposes.

The heavy bolter guy is a conversion, you can see the unconverted figure next to him, above. This was reasonably simple to do. the belt of bullets is one I bought maybe 15 years ago from Dragon Forge Designs. I don’t think they still sell them though.

The Blood Angels symbols are transfers and the company logos are hand painted.

More to come – stay tuned!
