Rogue Trader models sculpted by Kev Adams

Colours used:

Skin:

50% Goblin Green, 25% white, 25% sunburst yellow, and a dash of Windsor and Newton Apple Green ink to thin. Wash with GW Green Ink to shade the skin then reapply the base colour to all except the deepest portions. Highlight adding yellow and white each layer, the last two layers adding just white. Afterward glaze with W&N Apple Green Ink.

Blue:

Enchanted blue washed over with W&N ultramarine ink (maybe a bad idea as this turned out not to be waterproof when dry and so would bleed into other colours). Add white for highlights.

Fatigues:

Vomit brown washed with Devlan Mud. Add white to the vomit brown for highlights.

Red:

Evil Sunz Scarlet adding white and yellow for highlights, glazed with W&N vermillion ink.

Yellow:

Bad Moon Yellow washed with W&N orange ink. Add white to the yellow for highlights.

Base:

Bubonic Brown base edge. Sand: Bubonic brown and burnt umber ink. Bleached bone then white drybrushed on for highlights.

  1. Nice work here. Despite the use of 2e models and Bad Moonz colours you’ve (somehow!) managed to paint them in a way that avoids them looking like a Saturday morning cartoon. That Warboss is one that I’ll probably end up painting in red (or green) laquered armour, just like the old Chapter Approved-era paintjob. 🙂
